***NEW*** Howe Avenue in the city of Cuyahoga Falls
(Saturday, April 4 – until further notice)
Beginning Saturday April 4, at 1 p.m., Howe Ave. eastbound between Main St. and the Applebee’s Driveway will be CLOSED through late September for roadway reconstruction. The detour will be Main St. to Independence Ave. to Bucholzer Blvd. This $5.9 million reconstruction project on Howe Ave. is scheduled to be completed by late September 2020.

 

***NEW*** Interstate 76 in the City of Akron
(Friday, April 10 – Saturday, April 11)
On Friday evening, April 10, beginning at 6 p.m., I-76 eastbound between Lakeshore Blvd. and Princeton St. will have various lane restrictions through Saturday morning, April 11, at 1 a.m. for pavement repairs.

 

***NEW*** Interstate 77 in the Village of Richfield & Richfield Township
(Monday, April 20 – until further notice)
Beginning on Monday, April 20, I-77 between Everett Rd. and SR 21 will have various daily and nightly lane restrictions for pavement repairs and resurfacing. This $6.4 million resurfacing project on I-77 is scheduled to be completed by late August 2020.

 

***NEW*** State Route 91, US Route 224 & Canton Rd. in the Village of Lakemore & Springfield Township
(Wednesday, April 8 – until further notice)
Beginning on Wednesday, April 8, the following locations will be reduced to one lane in each direction for roadway construction:

  • Canton Rd. between the Lakemore Shopping Plaza and Arcadia Rd.
  • SR 91 between Old Home Rd. and Russet Lane.

The following locations will have various lane restrictions for drainage installation:

  • SR 91 between Russet Lane and US 224
  • Canton Rd. between the Lakemore Shopping Plaza and US 224

This $8.3 million intersection improvement project is scheduled to be completed by November 2021.

 

***NEW*** Interstate 271 in Boston Township
(Monday April 13 – until further notice)
Beginning Monday, April 13, I-271 between Hines Hill Rd. and Boston Mills Rd. will be reduced to two 10-foot lanes for a slide repair. This $700,000 slide repair project is scheduled to be completed by late July 2020.

 

Cleveland Massillon Rd. in the City of Norton
(until further notice)
Cleveland Massillon Rd. between Pleasant Dr. and just north of the City of Barberton Corporation limit has occasional daily lane restrictions for roadway work. This $8 million widening project on Cleveland Massillon Rd. is scheduled to be completed by August 2020.

 

State Route 8 in the Cities of Cuyahoga Falls, Stow, Hudson & the Village of Boston Heights
(until further notice)
SR 8 northbound traffic is currently split into two separate lane. The left lane is currently crossed over onto SR 8 southbound , while the right lane is currently using the SR 8 northbound median lane. Motorists wishing to exit SR 8 northbound at Graham Rd., Seasons Rs., Steels Corners Rd. or SR 303 need to remain in the right lane.

The following ramp closures are currently in place along SR 8 northbound:

  • The ramp from Graham Rd. to SR 8 northbound is closed through late June for bridge reconstruction. The detour is Graham Rd. to Wyoga Lake Rd. to Seasons Rd. to SR 8 northbound.
  • The ramp from SR 8 northbound to Steels Corners Rd. is closed through late April for pavement reconstruction. The detour is SR 8 to Seasons Rd. to Hudson Dr. to Steels Corners Rd.
  • The ramp from Steels Corners Rd. to SR 8 northbound is closed through late April for pavement reconstruction. The detour is Steels Corners Rd. to Hudson Dr. to Seasons Rd. to SR 8.
  • The ramp from SR 8 northbound to SR 303 is closed through late April for pavement reconstruction. The detour is SR 8 to Boston Mills Rd. to Chittenden Dr. to SR 303.

SR 8 northbound and southbound between Graham Rd. and SR 303 is reduced to two lanes for roadway reconstruction. This $58.6 million project is scheduled to be completed by July 2022.

 

Interstate 76 & Main Street in the City of Akron
(until further notice)
The ramp from Lakeshore Blvd.to I-76 eastbound is CLOSED through late spring 2020. The detours are northbound Lakeshore Blvd. to W. Thornton St. to Main St. or southbound Lakeshore Blvd. to Miller Rd. to Wolf Ledges to South St. to Main St.

I-76 eastbound between SR 59/Akron Innerbelt and SR 8 has various daily lane restrictions through mid-April for pavement repairs.

Main St. and Broadway St. between Miller Rd. and Bartges St. has various lane restrictions for roadway construction. This work is part of an $84 million project to reconstruct I-76/Main St. and Broadway St. interchange in the City of Akron. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by July 2020.

The ramp from I-76 westbound to SR 619/Wooster Rd. is CLOSED through late fall 2021 for new interchange construction.  The detour is I-76 westbound to Barber Rd. to I-76 eastbound to State St.

Motorists traveling on I-76 eastbound between Summit Rd. and 27th St., should be aware of a bi-directional traffic pattern. Although two lanes of traffic will be maintained in each direction on I-76, eastbound traffic will be split, with one lane of eastbound traffic crossed over onto I-76 westbound, while the second lane remains on I-76 eastbound.

Interstate 480 in the City of Twinsburg
(until further notice)
I-480 between SR 82 and Laurel Drive has occasional daily and nightly lane restrictions for noise wall construction through late August. This $3.4 million noise wall project is scheduled to be completed by late August 2020.
